Fishing do’s and don’ts From Special K First Mate First and foremost its “fishing” not catching!!! It’s a given that going fishing is fun, and sometimes its quick thinking that saves the day. It’s a given that luck plays an important part It’s a given that sometimes females are better first time anglers. Why?….they listen and are slower to react, which proves that patience and thinking through the bite is not a bad thing…. monofilament stretches, that clear stuff wrapped around the reel spool, which backlashes at the worst possible time. Several key factors  When your weight hits bottom be prepared, the fish are unaware that you are on the other end!   So getting a bite with slack line is costly, KEY- reel over the loose line doesn’t matter as long as you are on the bottom ,    be prepared to “Just turn the Handle”   JTTH, when your rod bends as the fish eats and swims away in deep water.   Circle hooks work when you make no sudden moves remember, there is a belly in your line,   so you must reel the line tight so the cirle hook will work, if you jerk the rod it will only separate the hook from the fishes mouth . simple, but doing it is an art.   So don’t be a slacker, a soaker or a speed winder, one of the three S’es….       Tight line to feel the bite, no Slacker        Soaker watches as everyone around them gets a bite and he did he just doesn’t realize it as he soaks a bare hook        And a Speed winder reels the bait right out of a hungry fishes mouth        Sounds like a lot, well ask me, that’s what im here for, mates will glady explain, but you must ask.   Sincerely First Mate Special K   “Tight Lines People!!!!” and JTTH
